Things to Do

The Boles Community Center is a great place for birthday parties, especially for kids with our new playground. Bring your own decorations to match your child's interests. The serving window is the perfect place to set up a buffet. A separate table has space for plates, cups, silverware, and drinks.

Observe the Red-cockaded Woodpecker on the Pine-Bluestem Road Tour

The Boles Community Center is about 2 miles from the Buffalo Road which is directly across from Highway 28 East at its intersection with Highway 71. With a restroom, kitchen, and space for dozens of people to sit for a meal, Boles Community Center makes a great base for groups who are interested in observing the Red-cockaded Woodpecker. Use the link below for more information about the tour.

Float the Fourche la Fave River

The Boles Community Center is a great place to gather if you want to float the Fourche River. It's a short distance to the Low Water Bridge where you can put your canoe or kayak in. Travel to the Dripping Springs, down to the bridge at Parks, or farther.

Your group can eat, change clothes, and relax at the Center before or after your float.
